Storyboarding to Enhance Your Plot with USA Today Bestselling Author Megan Ryder

April 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Have you heard the saying – a picture is worth a thousand words?  A plot board, or story board, is a visual representation of your book. It’s a visual view of your book, a quick overview, of the flow of your story. It allows you to quickly see an overview of your book without having to read paragraphs in a synopsis or notes in a notebook. It also facilitates plot brainstorming and helps keep you writing during the process.

In this workshop, we’ll discuss how to set up your storyboard for brainstorming, writing and revising your manuscript.

Additional Notes:

While this workshop assumes plotting knowledge, it does provide guidance on basic plot and story structure and provides guidance for writers of all levels to find ways to plot their stories and revise their stories using a visual board approach. It discusses turning points, elements of plot, internal and external arcs and processes for plotting stories. It is not a detailed plotting workshop however and can be modified for any plot method that a writer chooses to employ.

Bio:

Ever since USA Today Bestselling author Megan Ryder discovered Jude Deveraux and Judith McNaught while sneaking around the “forbidden” romance section of the library one day after school, she has been voraciously devouring romance novels of all types. Now a romance author in her own right, Megan pens sexy contemporary novels all about family and hot lovin’ with the boy next door. She also writes paranormal romance under a pen name, Sabrina Silvers. She’s also a master procrastinator–knitting and dealing with her very spoiled cocker spaniel, Bentley!
