It’s crazy to realize that we’re working our way into the fifth year of F.L.A.RE.’s existence, but here we are! What started out as a handful of local authors we coaxed into calling themselves F.L.A.R.E. members has blossomed into a pretty awesome author and reader network.
To date, F.L.A.R.E. has over 80 authors affiliated with the group. Many of those authors are also members of writing and critique groups independent of F.L.A.R.E., but for others, this is currently their only official connection to other writers. We love having them all in F.L.A.R.E.
We learn from one another, regardless of how many books we have (or don’t have) published or how many years we’ve been doing it. Someone new to the writing world may have discovered new, more effiicient ways of keeping track of characters, or creating a plot outline, or any number of skills authors need. Every member of F.L.A.R.E. is valuable.
And so are the readers who buy and read books written by local authors. Our goal is to make sure local authors are discoverable. We plan events that put our authors out in the pubic so hopefully they’ll pick up new readers. After all, it doesn’t do us any good to write books if people can’t find them to read.
Local authors are particularly appreciative of all support from fellow authors and readers. Every one of you counts for us. Thank you for letting our voices be heard!
